Back in Western Canada
Pittsburgh got a veteran backup to Fleury, and the Oilers got Dany Sabourin, a former AHL star and current NHL castoff, an AHL level centerman in Ryan Stone, and a 4th round pick in 2011.
Los Angeles got a 7th round pick for Jason LaBarbera, who used to be one of the better goaltenders in the AHL.
Obviously a win-win situation for both teams in the equation.
The other available goaltenders on the market:
1. Curtis Sanford
2. Martin Gerber
3. Wade Dubielewicz (who was claimed, by the way)
4. Jason LaBarbera (now in Vancouver)
5. Mathieu Garon
6. Dany Sabourin
7. Khabibulin/Huet
Out of these 8 goaltenders, who is the most bang-for-buck? Obviously Garon, followed by LaBarbera and Sabourin.
I'm sick so I don't feel like writing much more.
Dany Sabourin has now played for all the western Canadian teams. An eastern tour of duty is now inevitable.
Farewell, Mathieu Garon.
